$ 350.000

We're raising funds for Olevian, a publishing and media start-up with the mission to make Reformed teaching accessible again in Germany.

Olevian is a Reformed publishing and media venture, shaping a

distinct German voice for our time. Rooted in the creeds and

confessions, we seek to present the Christian faith with clarity, depth, and fresh expression.

A Church Ministry

Olevian is not a standalone mission detached from the church. It is a ministry – an extension of the church's teaching and witness into the public sphere. It speaks from within the church, yet outside its walls. Olevian is neither an imitation nor translation of Anglo-American Reformed resources, nor a nostalgic reconstruction of the past.

Reaching Our Generation

Our context is a generation shaped by feeds, fragments, and constant information streams. Many today encounter theology not first in public institutions, but privately and online – through podcasts, posts, and videos.

Printed books remain central to our work. Yet we pursue a content-first approach, expressing the message across the media channels through which people today listen, learn, and form their convictions. Tools and technologies such as artificial intelligence, metrics, and algorithms are not an afterthought at Olevian, but part of the media environment in which we intentionally operate.

Behind Olevian

Olevian is led by two founders whose backgrounds combine theological training, design practice, and contemporary digital media.

Roberto Palmer studied philosophy and theology at the University of Heidelberg and at Westminster Seminary California. He is also a trained graphic designer and printer, with experience in editorial design, print production, and theological writing. He is responsible for Olevian's theological direction, editorial vision, and print publishing strategy.

Johannes Gerber works as a product lead at Framer, one of Europe's leading software startups, where he works extensively with contemporary digital tools and creative platforms. With a background in design, web technology, and project management, he leads Olevian's digital strategy – shaping how theological content is distributed and experienced in modern media environments.

Roberto and Johannes first met at design school more than twenty years ago. Their engagement with Reformed theology began through English-speaking online content, especially podcasts and video series, which led them to discover the SERK church plant in Heidelberg, where they joined the congregation. Their combined backgrounds and shared faith position them to bring Olevian's vision to life.

Initial Projects

Among our first publications will be a book by Pastor Sebastian Heck on the role of the confessions in the life of the church, titled The Good Confession. Originally written in German, the book will also be released in English to reach readers across Europe and the United States.

Alongside this, we will release an authorized edition of the Three Forms of Unity for SERK churches – designed for liturgical use in corporate worship as well as for catechesis and personal devotion. This release will be accompanied by a digital version and a distribution strategy across social media.

A further project is a Reformed Basics book series, introducing key theological topics with clarity and confessional depth. Each book release will be complemented by an introductory video series explaining the core themes and arguments.

The funding goal of $350,000 covers an initial 2-year runway for Olevian. Please reach out if you are interested in more details.
